Ongoing investigation into complaint over police officers' conduct

Police officers have been served with 'misconduct notices' after an alleged incident in a Weston-super-Mare car park.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary confirmed it is investigating a complaint into how some of its officers responded to a 999 call earlier this year.

The Professional Standards Department sent a letter to the complainant which says officers have been served with ‘misconduct notices’.

The officers have provided written responses, which will be included in a final investigation report.

A police spokesman said: “We can confirm a complaint was received and an investigation is being carried out by our Professional Standards Department.

“As this is still ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage.”
