Weston College students have raised more than £7,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust and Weston Hospicecare.

The college’s annual fundraising event was a huge success as a number of departments competed for the charity cup, which is awarded to the faculty which raises the most money.

Students sold cakes and held raffles, while the hair and beauty students even opened a pop-up salon.

But the winner was the business, enterprise and service industries department, which raised more than £2,000.

Emma Rawlings, head of student services, said: “This year’s charity cup total is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all our students.”
