MORE than 200 people packed a café in Cheddar to enjoy a ladies-only pamper evening for charity.
Stalls selling jewellery, luxury chocolates, makeovers and manicures were at Fat Fox’s Café at Bowden Park last week.
A raffle and a stall raised more than £250 for the Children’s Hospice South West at Charlton Farm.
Katie Booth sold handbags, Maison Lulu brought in handmade chocolates and Heapes of Burnham came with crafts and presents.
The most popular stalls were the Indian head massage stall and the tarot card reading.
Jenny Fox, joint owner of the café, said: “It makes it worthwhile to know that we raised money for charity and people really enjoyed themselves on the night.
“We were not sure how it was going to pan out but it was a great success and the feedback I have had since has been really lovely.”
She said that men involved in the café, including her husband Steve, will run a rival men-only event next month to try to beat the ladies’ total.
