A PARACHUTIST and spectator were air-lifted to hospital after they collided during this afternoon’s (Sun) Air Day event in Weston.

The incident happened at around 1.20pm along Marine Parade.

Police said the parachutist was part of the RAF Falcon display team, who collided with an 82-year-old woman as he came into land.

The scene was attended by an air ambulance which was assisted by police cadets who cleared a space for it to land.

Both people were taken to hospital.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said neither have life-threatening injuries and the parachutist has since left hospital.

The spokesman said: “There will be liaison between various agencies to ensure an appropriate investigation into the incident takes place.”
