YOUNGSTERS enjoyed their very own Olympics-inspired sports day, turning their hand to gladiatorial combat, egg and spoon races and a penalty shoot-out.

Oliver’s Café in Clarence Park put on the day of sports for young people inspired by London 2012.

Children even enjoyed doing battle in a bouncy-castle arena in the style of the Gladiators TV show.

Spokesman for the event Cat Page said: “It’s important to put on events for children of all ages. We could see them having fun and their parents were able to watch their kids having fun, competing and winning prizes.”
