OUTRAGED residents say they are sick of having their property damaged by unruly youths who hang around drinking, swearing and setting fire to things.People living around The Maltlands area of Locking Castle have to step on broken glass as they walk along the footpath by the park next to their homes.Last weekend the fence in the park was set alight and broken and tree branches were pulled down and ended up strewn across the floor. There were also cider bottles, beer cans and broken bottles left littering the pathway and in the grassed area of the park next to the equipment where young children play. One resident, who lives in Teasel Walk but who did not want to be named for fear of reprisals, said: "Last weekend youths burnt the fence down in the park and there was broken glass everywhere."It was the worst incident for a while but I always see kids with cider and Bacardi Breezers walking past and shouting and swearing."They also congregate by the pond behind the park so the police can't see them."They cause criminal damage to our properties and the residents here are absolutely sick to death of it."* Pictured: Residents survey the damage next to the park in Locking Castle.
