Parking charges in Burnham have this week been frozen by Sedgemoor District Council ahead of the start of the new financial year next month.

A spokesman for the council said: “The charges went up last April. Since the charges can only go up in increments of 10p, any increase would equate to a very large percentage rise for the short-stay charges – much more than the rate of inflation.”
