PARKING in The Square in Axbridge has improved after a police crackdown.
Many businesses and residents complained after motorists began parking in the short stay spaces for days at a time, deterring shoppers and visitors.
Police community support officers have been dishing out tickets to the culprits over the past couple of months and the problem has now eased.
However, motorists are now parking on the single yellow lines in St Marys Street and preventing residents from accessing their drives.
Police will now be cracking down on drivers who block the street for other road users.
