A generous charity donation now allows patients at Weston General Hospital to put their feet up during their stay.

The League of Friends has been raising money for the hospital for more than 60 years and has now donated 50 footstools to help patients feel more comfortable.

Helen Richardson, director of nursing at Weston Area Health NHS Trust, which runs the hospital, said: “For many of our patients when they are sat out of bed, their legs need to be fully supported for comfort and as an aid to reduce swelling.

“I’d like to express our thanks and gratitude to the League of Friends for their kind donation. They play a key role in raising funds to support the hospital and we really value their tireless efforts on our behalf.”

June Stephen, chairman of the League of Friends, said: “We are delighted to donate these footstools.

“We think they will make a difference to patients comfort and safety.”
