A TOWN centre police officer is jetting off on his travels for two weeks to learn Polish.
PC Rob Morgan will go to Krakow next month where he will study at the city's university.
The 37-year-old's trip, being funded by Avon and Somerset Police, will help him interact with members of Weston's Polish community.
PC Morgan said: "I will take a two-week beginners' course in Polish and hope to spend the rest of my time with a family over there.
"Because we have a lot of Polish people living in town now and in North Somerset, it will help us here at the station if I know some of the language. It may help when others do not speak much English.
"I do not think I will be acting as a translator as such at the station, in interview for example.
"I hope to carry on learning Polish afterwards.
