A GROUP of grans from Nailsea have stripped off to raise cash for charity this Christmas.

The plucky pensioners from Laurel Court Residential and Nursing Home, Brockway, bared all for a Calendar Girls style fund-raiser.

The modest models posed in a variety of fun settings to represent a different month of the year and the 2008 calendars are now being sold to raise money for Children's Hospice South West.

Lily Gould, aged 97, is the oldest resident to pose for the calendar. She said: "We all enjoyed doing the calendar. Calendar Girls was a great film and we wanted to do something similar for a bit of fun. We decided to do it for the children this Christmas."

Lily posed in a fur coat and is pictured first in the calendar as Miss January.

Barbara Billingham came up with the idea for the fund-raiser and is talking of doing a Lovely Legs calendar for 2009.

The calendars have been selling like hot cakes and can be picked up from shops and businesses across town for £7.
