A FAVOURITE children’s cartoon character is dropping into Weston to turn on the Sovereign Shopping Centre’s lights this year.

Channel 5’s Peppa Pig and side-kick George will be turning the centre’s lights on at 5.30pm on November 25 to kick start a busy festive period.

The centre will be open for late night shopping until 9pm on that night, and December 2, 9, 16 and 23.

It will also be open until 7pm on December 20, 21 and 22. Shoppers arriving after 3pm on these special late night shopping evenings will also be able to park for free.

The centre is also set to launch its Tree of Light appeal in support of Weston Hospicecare on November 27, with everyone hoping to beat last year’s figure of more than £20,000.
