A MUSICAL director decided the show must go on and did not let his broken leg stop him from performing at a Poppy Appeal launch at the weekend.

The launch on Saturday was organised by the Hutton and Locking branch of the Royal British Legion and also included a parade of the standards.

Acappella chorus Waves Of Harmony performed at the event with its musical director Mike Peters. Mr Peters was on holiday with his wife Norma in Canada last month when he fell and broke his ankle, but the group still needed him for the concert at Hutton Village Hall.

Mr Peters said: “As long as I can wave my arms and the girls can see me, it’s all under control.”

Waves Of Harmony will also be performing at the Christmas lights switch-on in Weston on November 14.
