A 92-YEAR-OLD man has supported one of Weston's businesses by buying 32 cars from the same garage for the past 41 years.

Nissan fan Peter Butler has been buying the cars from Howards Motor Group since 1974.

His first Nissan was a Datsun Cherry – the company’s previous name – and the former Royal Air Force pilot has been a loyal customer of the business in Herluin Way since buying his first car at a cost of £3,750.

Peter, of Hutton, said: “A lot of people ask why I’ve bought so many Nissans and I tell them, why change when you have something which satisfies you.

“I’ve tried to buy a new car every year on my father’s advice.”

Peter, who is a full-time carer for his wife who has had Alzheimer’s disease for 22 years, said he’s owned every Nissan model, including the Bluebird, Sunny and Cherry over the years since he first started driving at the age of 17.
