INTERNATIONALLY renowned pianist Peter Donohoe CBE held a 'magical' concert in Churchill on Saturday.

The event was organised by Churchill Music! and it was the first time Mr Donohoe played as the charity’s patron.

Mr Donohoe played a variety of classical pieces from composers including Ravel, Chopin, Rachmaninov and Scriabin, which were huge hits with the packed audience at St John the Baptist Church, in Church Lane.

A spokesman for Churchill Music! said: “The evening was a huge success and we had a full house enjoying the show.

“He took the time to explain the context of the music to us beforehand, which really made a difference in understanding the pieces.

“It was just magical. He is a phenomenal talent and people were coming out of the door absolutely boggled by him.”
