Alpacas and shopping are not two things that readily go hand in hand, but they did at the weekend.

The South West Alpaca Group (SWAG) Fleece Show was held in East Huntspill on Saturday.

The fair featured lots of stalls for visitors to browse too, with wool products, paintings and more on sale.

A SWAG spokesman said: “The fleece show and craft fair took place on Saturday and I think it’s fair to say that a good time was had by all.

“Our thanks go to Jay Holland for judging the fleece show into which he put many hours over a day and half to give every one of the 81 fleeces judged a thorough consideration.

“We would finally like to thank Sue Chitty, Pat Northmore, Emma Stradling and Judith Newman for organising the events.

“Many, many hours of work was put into staging the events and all are exhausted but happy with the final results. I think we might just do it again next year though.”
