Hundreds of people could be spotted celebrating the Royal Air Force's 100th anniversary last weekend.

Flowerdown House, which is affiliated with the RAF, Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) and the RAFA band worked together to put on a fun day on Weston-super-Mare’s Beach Lawns to mark the significant event.
The concert band performed to a packed marquee twice during the day.
Representatives from the Weston and Burnham-on-Sea Air Cadets took on RAF veterans in a walk the plank race, with the former servicemen reigning victorious.
More than 200 people attended the concerts, with a further 100 people browsing the stalls and taking part in activities.

Weston RAFA secretary and event organiser Iain Norris said he was ‘very happy’ with how it went.
More than £2,000 was raised for the Wings Appeal, which offers welfare support to acting and former servicemen and women.
