THEY were partying like it was 1904 in Weston on Saturday as one of the resort’s most famous attractions reached a milestone anniversary.

Today (Wed) marks 110 years since the Grand Pier welcomed its first visitors and a party was held over the weekend to celebrate the occasion.

Brave cyclists rode penny farthings up and down the walkway while a Punch and Judy show and face-painting booth were arranged for the children to enjoy.

And with the pier having become intrinsically linked with Somerset, it seemed appropriate that a cider festival also took place on Saturday.
