TEA for two with Jeffrey Archer at his London penthouse is one of the top prizes up for grabs at the seafront party of the summer.The Weston Super Pier Party, one of the biggest charity bashes to hit the town, will feature top local bands, a star-studded auction, a top DJ traditional food and loads of free rides.One of the main attractions on the day will be an auction including tea at Lord Archer's penthouse apartment in London's Embankment, as well as a prize donated by Sir Cliff Richard and a tour of the House of Commons with Weston MP John Penrose.A host of sports memorabilia is also going under the hammer including shirts, photographs and pennants from Premiership teams like Liverpool, Everton, Blackburn Rovers and Tottenham Hotspur. Many of them have been signed.Tickets are just £20, to include free food, and with only 1,000 available and with hundreds sold already, the event at the Grand Pier is expected to be a sell-out.All the proceeds from the party on June 21 will go to Weston Super Kids Appeal, which is raising cash to build, among other things, a children's ward at Weston General Hospital.Soul band The Orphans will headline the evening's entertainment along with The Ovation Brothers. A new band, Ladycake, will premier some of its rock tracks.Everything has been donated for the night and pier co-owner Rod Brenner has not only offered the venue for free, but also said money used in the slot machines during the evening will go to the appeal as well.Raffle tickets to win a car for just £1 will be on sale during the night. Weston's new mayor Paula Howell will draw the winning ticket on August 31 at one of the Howards garages, which donated the Peugeot 107 to the appeal.The tickets include all the entertainment, fish and chips or a pig roast, ice cream and entry to a whole host of rides. They are on sale now at the Winter Gardens on 01934 645544. There will be a fully licensed bar and guests must be aged 16 or over.
