Pier run raises thousands

TESCO managers braved the hail, wind and rain to raise more than £10,000 for charity.
The team of 24 ran, cycled and walked the 13 miles from Clevedon Pier to Weston’s Grand Pier to raise the cash for Diabetes UK.
Becky Fowler, regional manager for Diabetes UK said: “They were freezing and soaked when they got there, and they were all pretty brave doing it.
“It is amazing for 24 people to raise that amount of money.”
The fundraiser is part of Tesco’s partnership with Diabetes UK, which has raised millions of pounds so far.
