AN HISTORIC building will reopen its doors for business again in the next couple of months.Members of the Friends of the Old Pier Society are hoping to reopen the Pier View building at the land end of Birnbeck Pier.It will once again be used as a shop, selling memorabilia and souvenirs and volunteers will also be on hand to give tourists information about the pier.Developer Urban Splash bought Birnbeck Pier last September and bosses at the Manchester-based development company plan to turn it into a landmark project. In the meantime, company bosses have said they will give Pier View a lick of paint inside and do some work to the outside of the building so society members can try to get the shop up and running by April.Volunteers hope there will be enough people to keep it open most weekends. If anyone can help they should call Lesley on 01934 642573.
