Weston's Bayside Hotel site is due to be sold at auction in December, after the property was withdrawn from a previous sale.

The land in Manilla Crescent has been empty since 2012, after the hotel was gutted by fire and then demolished.

A number of developers have attempted to build flats on the site over the past two years.

North Somerset Council approved a planning application for 24 flats on November 3.

The land had been due to be sold on November 2, but was withdrawn from the auction at the last minute. It has been re-listed to be sold on December 11, although the guide price has been reduced from £750,000 to £700,000.

It has been estimated the site’s eventual value could be between £3.75million and £4.25million, and property experts believe it could be a suitable site for student accommodation.

The auction will take place at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol at 7pm.
