Plans for leisure and boxing club

PUBLISHED: 11:32 09 January 2013

A SPORT and leisure club could be created on Weston’s Oldmixon estate if a planning application is approved.

Robert Preddy has applied to turn a vacant business unit in Lynx Crescent into a club which would also feature an amateur boxing facility.

The unit was last used for office storage in 2007, and if Mr Preddy’s plan is approved by North Somerset Council it would be open from 9am-9pm every day.

Although hanging boxing bags would feature at the proposed facility, no other fitness equipment would be installed.

Mr Preddy, who is from Weston, is likely to find out whether his application has been successful by February 7, which is the council’s target date for approving or refusing the application.
