A five-hour litter pick raised £543.90 for environmental and animal charities.

Dean Harris and Alan Brown collected 12 bags of rubbish along Berrow Beach, and picked up some old items including a 1980s washing-up bottle and a crisp packet dating from 1988.

McDonald’s sponsored the litter-pick, and the money will go to the Marine Conservation Society and Secret World Animal Rescue.

Money will also go to some anti-poaching wildlife charities.
