Police and ambulance crews tackling incident in Weston-super-Mare

Two busy roads in central Weston-super-Mare are blocked this afternoon (Thursday), with multiple police and ambulance crews dealing with an ongoing incident.

Both Regent Street and Beach Road are blocked by police cars, with several busses and cars queuing in the area.

A South West Ambulance Service spokesman said a man, who may have suffered a cardiac arrest, was taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary after a call at 1.38pm.

The spokesman added: “We attended with two ambulances, one rapid response car and one critical care doctor.”

Multiple police cars attended the incident.

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesman said: “We assisted by providing CPR to the man who collapsed.”
