Witness appeal after crash leaves five people hurt

Witnesses to a serious collision in which five people were injured are being sought by police.

Two cars, a BMW X3 and a Nissan Note, were involved in a collision on the A38 Bridgwater Road at around 4.20pm yesterday (Monday).

The incident occurred in Winscombe, near the Premier Inn hotel, and five people were taken to hospital, including two in their 70s who suffered serious injuries.

Police are today appealing for witnesses to come forward.
