Police appeal for witnesses to attempted robbery

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery at a newsagent's.

A man entered the shop in Milton Road, Weston, on January 19 at 7.15pm threatening the shop assistant and demanding cash.

The assistant pressed a personal attack alarm and the suspect left the shop empty-handed and ran down Ashcombe Road.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police want anyone with any information or who was in the area at the time to call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
