Avon and Somerset Constabulary has launched an appeal to identify a man in connection with a series of shop thefts in Weston-super-Mare.

Police are investigating three thefts from March 24-27, and believe the man pictured may have information relating to the incidents.

The first theft took place on March 24 at Spar in Milton Road at about 7pm when cash was taken from the till and the suspect shoved a member of the public into shelving as he exited the shop.

On March 27 the suspect committed two more thefts, firstly at McColls in Locking Road at around 6pm when he placed carton of milk on the counter before reaching into the till and grabbing cash.

Two hours later the same suspect climbed over the counter at Spar in Loxton Road and took money from the register.

A police spokesman said: “We believe the man pictured may have information to help our enquiries and would like him, or anyone recognising him, to contact us.

“We’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the above locations on the two days who might have information to help our enquiries. If you are able to help, call 101, quoting reference 5217065289.”
