POLICE have made 14 arrests as part of a pre-Christmas Operation Relentless action day.
The 'action on burglary' day involved a major campaign by officers to remind people to reduce the risk of burglary this Christmas.
Officers carried out high-visibility patrols across the district and crime prevention leaflets were handed out by police community support officers.
The arrests were made after warrants were carried out in relation to burglary, drugs offences, theft and assault.
Over the past two years more than 160 people have been arrested as part of 15 action days.
PC Steve Burrough, alias, Bobby the Burglar, spent time sneaking around people's houses pointing out weak spots including unlocked doors and windows as part of the campaign.
He made notes for householders which he then dropped through their doors.
Residents were urged to challenge the shady character to win a share of £800 worth of crime prevention goodies.
