Police call-out to Weston’s Birnbeck Pier

Officers from Avon and Somerset Constabulary were called to Weston-super-Mare’s Birnbeck Pier last night (Sunday), following concerns about a woman’s welfare.

Police attended the Birkett Road site at about 8.30pm after receiving calls about the welfare of the woman, who was close to the pier.

The woman was taken to Weston General Hospital as a precaution.
