Police car crashes travelling to emergency

A POLICE car was involved in an accident with another car in Weston on Saturday as it was en route to an emergency.

The police car was travelling down Locking Road, responding to an emergency, when it was involved in a collision at the junction of the road and Ashcombe Road at about 11pm.

The police car was left with damage to its bodywork and rear wheel, but no one was hurt.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: “As with any collision we will be examining the circumstances leading to the collision.”

Police appealed for anyone who may have seen the incident or have information to call them on 101.
