THREE Somerset men have been charged with drug production offences after three separate cannabis cultivation set ups were discovered in Burnham.
More than 300 cannabis plants were seized by local officers in the space of two weeks and these charges follow the successful investigation of drug related crime in the area.
A 43-year-old man was charged with production of controlled drugs and money laundering after the police obtained a search warrant for Alexander Court, in Highbridge Quay on March 7.
On the same date another warrant was executed at The Elms Caravan Park at Pawlett and two men, aged 53 and 45, of that address have now been charged with production of controlled drugs. All three will appear at Taunton Deane Magistrates Court on July 25.
Sergeant Ian Kennett said: “Our communities in Cheddar, Burnham and Highbridge have told me in our public Have your Say meetings that dealing with drug crime is their top priority for the police.
“Our activity is intelligence led and our communities play a vital part in these successes by providing much of the information. This can be done by speaking to your local neighbourhood beat teams or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
“My officers will always listen to what you have to say and we will take positive action wherever possible.”
