Police in North Somerset are offering owners of vehicles more than five years old the opportunity to make them safer.North Somerset's crime reduction unit has negotiated with manufacturers of mechanical and electrical immobilisers to buy them at a reduced cost if the vehicle is over five-years-old.Crime reduction officer PC Steve Burrough said during October 2005 and March 2006, 87 cars over five-years-old were stolen.Added security is being offered if the person has been a previous victim of vehicle theft, is on a low income, live in North Somerset and has a vehicle older than five years old.
