Police investigate early hours shop flat fire

A FLAT fire above a Weston shop this morning (Sun) is to be investigated by police.

Firefighters were called to the first-floor flat on the corner of Hopkins Street and Meadow Street at 1.36am.

Three fire engines from Weston and one from Winscombe attended. Firefighters checked the property but it was found to be empty.

An Avon & Somerset Fire & Rescue spokesman said the service and Avon and Somerset police are looking into the cause.
