A POLICE investigation has been launched after a former Somerset hotel manager was found dead in Egypt.
The Foreign Office has confirmed that Frances Rossiter, former manager of the Queens Hotel in Burnham, was found dead in the Red Sea resort of Hurghada.
A Foreign Office spokesman said: “We can confirm the death of a British national in Hurghada.
“Next of kin have been informed and we are providing consular assistance.
“We are aware that the Egyptian police are currently investigating. It would be inappropriate to speculate at this stage.”
The spokesman added that it was believed Ms Rossiter died on or before June 9.
