Police investigation launched after 58-year-old man suffers head injuries after beach assault

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted on Brean beach on Friday, while he was walking his dog.

Two men assaulted the man and police are now keen to locate the culprits.

The 58-year-old suffered head and facial injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene, before being taken to Weston General Hospital.

The incident happened at around 3.45pm and an investigation has now been launched.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: “If anyone witnessed this assault, or knows who the offenders may be, we would encourage them to call us on 101, quoting the reference number 5217118179.”
