THE young woman who died following a road accident on Saturday has been named by police.

Alice Hicks, aged 27, from Weston, suffered injuries after the accident at the junction of the A38 Bristol Road and Biddisham Lane near Axbridge at around 1.35pm on Saturday.

Although she was taken by air ambulance to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, she died later that day.

The police’s collision investigation unit has repeated its appeal for information, with any witnesses asked to call on the 101 number.

The accident happened when a number of cars were stationary waiting to turn right into Biddisham Lane from the A38, when a vehicle came round the corner and went out of control, colliding with another vehicle going in the opposite direction.
