Police name fatal accident victim

A MOTORCYCLIST who died after a crash on Sunday has been named.

Police have announced that John Ivison is the man who died following the accident in Lympsham.

The crash happened at about 3.35pm at the junction of Brean Road and Rectory Way.

A Mercedes car pulled out of Brean Road and collided with a motorcycle which was travelling along Rectory Way.

Mr Ivison was 76 and from Exeter, police have said.

The force has also confirmed that a 72-year-old man from North Somerset has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has now been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary has issued an appeal for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision.
