Police name man killed in crash

POLICE have named a 65-year-old driver who was killed in a two-car collision on Friday.

Police officers were called at 7.30am to a report of a crash on the B3141 Causeway at Woolavington.

Professor James Henry Perry, of Burnham, died of his injuries at the scene.

Both vehicles, a Ford Mondeo and a Volkswagen Gold, ended up in a ditch after the crash.

The other driver, who was in the silver Golf, was able to get out of the car and was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital, in Taunton, with head injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to call 101.
