A POLICE memorial parade will be held in Weston this Sunday.

Regular officers, special constables, back office staff and mounted police will all take part in the parade that gets underway at 2.15pm.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary will take part in the national event to remember those who have lost their lives working for the police and their families.

A parade through Weston’s streets will be held on Sunday afternoon, after a private service in Portishead. The resort has hosted a police parade through the town since 2006.

It will start in Union Street and go along Walliscote Road to Clarence Park Baptist Church where a second service will take place.
