MOTORISTS parking illegally in Yatton High Street have been warned they will be targeted by the police.Yatton beat officer PC Andy Bibbings says police will be cracking down on vehicles parked in bus bays following the laying of new single yellow lines, introduced to replace faded road markings. He said: "I have been campaigning for this for a long time. Parking in the bays has previously been a contentious issue, as motorists would say they did not realise that it was illegal and that they could not see any road markings."Now new single yellow lines have been laid there is no excuse for not knowing where you can and cannot park. It is an offence to park in the bus bays and we will be looking to issue £30 penalty tickets to vehicles found in them."These spaces are needed for public transport vehicles and for children's school buses. Using them causes double parking, which is a major concern from a common sense and public safety perspective.
