DETECTIVES investigating a sexual assault that occurred at the weekend have released a picture of this jumper.

The attack happened in Weston at about 6am on Sunday.

The victim was walking along the cycle track between Searle Crescent and Hutton Moor Road when she was assaulted.

The offender is described as a white man, in his early 20s and of large build. After the assault he made off towards Asda.

Police want to identify potential witnesses and in particular anyone who may have been cycling or jogging in the area at the time.

Officers investigating this crime have released an image of this jumper in the hope that members of the public may be able to identify who it belongs to.

Detective Inspector Julie Mackay said: “Investigations into this incident remain ongoing and I am keen to identify the owner of a burgundy/red-coloured hooded type jumper with yellow writing on the front back and arms.

This jumper is quite distinctive and was found near to the scene.

“I would like to speak to the owner of this jumper or to anyone who may know who it belongs to.

“We have increased the police presence in the area and I would remind all members of the public to continue to be vigilant and aware of their own personal safety.

“Anyone who sees anyone acting suspiciously in the area is asked to call us.”

Anyone else who may have any information is asked to call police on 101.
