Police have renewed their appeal to find missing Weston-super-Mare man Deakon Wilkins, after divers have searched the water around the nightclub in Bristol where he was last seen.
"I’d like to appeal directly to Deakon – if you see this, please let us or your family know you are safe, everyone is very worried about you."
Deakon, aged 24, has now been missing for 10 days and his family, friends and strangers took to the city’s streets today (Tuesday) to hand out flyers and search for him.
Deakon was last seen at 4.30am on January 14 at Motion nightclub, in Avon Street.
On Friday Deakon’s dad, Andy Wilkins, put out an emotional plea to bring his son home.
Police have also released a CCTV image of Deakon in the hope it will jog people’s memories if they saw him on the night he disappeared.
Avon and Somerset Constabulary has now renewed its appeal to help find him.
DI Steve Cartlidge said: “It’s been more than week now since anyone has seen or heard from Deakon and we’re increasingly concerned for his welfare.
“As part of our inquiry we have been talking to his friends and associates, carrying out a physical search of the area where he was last seen, including the water surrounding Motion, while we’re also reviewing a significant amount of CCTV footage.
“We are committed to doing everything we can to find Deakon and are keeping an open mind as to his whereabouts.
“I’d like to appeal to anyone who was in the area and saw Deakon in the early hours of January 14 and who hasn’t already made contact with us to get in touch.
“I’d also like to appeal directly to Deakon – if you see this, please let us or your family know you are safe, everyone is very worried about you.
“Deakon’s family are being kept fully informed with our inquiry and we are providing them with support.”
