Police searching for evidence in murder investigation

POLICE are searching in Kewstoke for evidence relating to a murder investigation.
Avon and Somerset Constabulary has confirmed officers are looking everywhere within cordons from Crookes Lane to Lower Norton Lane and up to Kewside.
Police have not disclosed what they are looking for, but have confirmed it is in connection to the investigation into Julia Tottle’s death.
The Mercury has received information that police are searching hedgerows in Kewstoke.
Julia, known locally as Julie, was found dead in her cottage behind the Royal Oak Stores at about noon last Tuesday. She died from head injuries following a sustained attack.
Officers also found a man, believed to be her husband Stephen Hotson, who they say had either fallen or jumped from the upstairs window of the Crookes Lane store, known locally as the ‘pink shop’.
Mr Hotson is currently under arrest and is in a stable condition in Frenchay Hospital.
Police say he has ‘life-changing injuries’.
