POLICE arrested two teenagers and a man for possession of cannabis on Tuesday, and seized cash and an air weapon following information given by the community.

On Tuesday afternoon two 16-year-old youths were stopped in Worston Lane, Highbridge, in possession of cannabis and were arrested. Later that evening a drugs warrant was executed in Kings Street, Highbridge, and a 30-year-old man was arrested for possession with intent to supply cannabis.

The search was carried out by neighbourhood police officers from Burnham police station and the cannabis was estimated at a street value of £300. In addition the officers seized cash, weighing scales and an air weapon, which will be destroyed.

Police said last month’s PACT meeting in Highbridge showed that drug dealing was one of the community’s top priorities.

PC Adrian Jones said: “We listen carefully to the community and act on the information they give us to make Highbridge a safer place. We will continue to target drug dealers as well as anyone who commits crime in our area. The public can have confidence that their local police are committed to bringing offenders to justice and serving their community.”
