THE Royal British Legion’s poppy appeal got underway with a parade of standards in Hutton on Saturday.
The standard-bearers, carrying the banners of the legion, the Coldstream Guards and Korean War veterans, among others, assembled at the Old Inn before marching to the village hall.
The morning continued with a coffee morning at the village hall. The poppy appeal is held each year to raise money for former and current service members and their families.
