Poppy Appeal raises £19k

IT HAS been revealed that the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal for Portishead, Pill and Portbury raised a branch record of more than £19,500.

IT HAS been revealed that the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal for Portishead, Pill and Portbury raised a branch record of more than £19,500.

Sandra Favell, branch chairman, said: "We can't thank the collectors enough, this is really good news."

A thank you party will be held at Clarence House on February 15 for all collectors and volunteers who made the appeal so successful.

All volunteers are welcome to attend the event, during which a number of awards will be presented to those who have helped over the years.
