THOUSANDS of pounds have been raised by hundreds of bikers during their weekly meets in Weston.

The popular Weston Bike Nights take place on the Beach Lawns throughout the summer.

The last meeting took place on Thursday, when the cheque for £10,972 was handed over to the Royal British Legion for its Poppy Appeal.

Hundreds of bikes line up on the lawns every Thursday night, and 347 made the trip to Weston’s seafront last week.

A Kawasaki ZX10R Special was chosen as the final winner of the ‘bike of the night’ award.

Adam Brown, who helps to organise the Poppy Appeal in Somerset, said: “I can’t thank everyone enough for all your support this year.”
