She said: "I have been selected with just three other girls to train and play full-time in Denmark in preparation for 2012.

"This is because handball is the Danes' national sport and its facilities, coaches and clubs are outstanding."

Sophie is slightly worried how she will financially support her training and preparation.

She said: "UK Sport allowance is very limited and does not even cover my basic living expenses let alone equipment and necessary travel.

"I am hoping people at home might know of some grant giving trusts, community groups or businesses that will be able to offer some sponsorship.

"I would be so grateful to hear of any help available, however large or small, which may help me to fulfil my dream of representing my country at our home Olympics."
