Posters go up after attack on teenager

A CAMPAIGN warning people to take care at night has been launched in Mead Vale following an attack on a young girl. Members of the area's local action team (LAT) are asking for witnesses to come forward after the 14-year-old had her purse and mobile phone

A CAMPAIGN warning people to take care at night has been launched in Mead Vale following an attack on a young girl.Members of the area's local action team (LAT) are asking for witnesses to come forward after the 14-year-old had her purse and mobile phone stolen as she was walking near the shops. LAT chairman Ann Whithers said: "We are putting posters up because it is not right that people think they can make easy money stealing. "If they need money they should go and get a job."The posters are appealing for anyone who saw the incident take place, at about 10pm on January 26, to come forward. They are being put up in shops, community centres and pubs.If anyone has any information they should call the police on 0845 4567000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
